Smoke BBQ Festival

March 11, 2004 -- It's time now to mark your calendar for the first inaugural Greater Hickory
Smoke/Kansas City Sanctioned BBQ Festival. Brought to you by the Southwest Business Association of
Hickory, North Carolina. The festival will be held May 28 and 29, 2004 at the Catawba Furniture Mall.
With over 50 professional Barbeque Cooking Teams expected to attend from all over the United States this
will be an exciting event, proving who is the best of the best, when it comes down to the final judging.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society is the largest International organization of barbecue enthusiasts. The
society sanctions contests and supervises the judging process at contests all over North America.
In addition to all the great tasting food, there will be Live Music and an Artist Exhibition provided by
local and regional artists. There are also plans for a lawnmower race, poker run, kiddies section and
much more.
